Sally Wolf Harjo
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident, Sally Wolf Harjo, are scheduled for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hitchitee Church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
She died on May 2, 2003 at the age of 62 in the Seminole Medical Hospital.
She was born on October 13, 1940 in Seminole to Freeland Wolf and Eliza Camp.
She worked at the Railroad Crossing in Tulsa and at Blue Bell, now Wrangler, in Seminole.
She retired several years ago.
She was a member of Hitchite Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Liz Camp; her father, Freeland Wolf; two daughters, Yvetta Hulbutta and Christine Wise Talamasey; one son, Jacob W. Wise; one grandson, Johnny Joe Fixico; one sister, Joanna R. Harjo; and two brothers, Raymond J. Wolf and Johnson Wolf.
She is survived by Allen Hulbutta of the home, one daughter, Sonya Pohlemann of Tecumseh; two grandsons, Cory L. Nedd and Daniel Gazaway Wise both of Tecumseh; two granddaughters, Tiffany Wise and Michelle R. Hulbutta both of Tulsa; one son-in-law, Gary L. Pohlemann of Tecumseh; one aunt, Opal Ahaisse; two adopted daughters, Loretta Harjo of Holdenville and Pam Underwood of Seminole; one adopted son, Tim Ray Harrison of Seminole; five nephews, Alex Pete Wolf of Shawnee and Richie Harjo, James Harjo, Bear Harjo, and Steven Harrison all of Konawa; seven nieces, Mary Ann Wolf of Oklahoma City, and Jimmie Lou Harjo, Tammy Harjo, Charolette Harjo, Dino Harjo, Johnna Harrison, and Robin Harrison all of Konawa; and one sister, Susie Jones of Seminole.
Casketbearers are Tim Ray Harrison, Jimmy Harjo Jr., Jimmy Dean Harjo, Nathan Harjo, Justin Pebworth and Wesley Pebworth.
Honorary bearers are Jim Lena, Joe Haney, Sonny Turnbow, Kevin Pohlemann, Jimsey Tiger and Robby Tiger.
The body will be taken to the church Tuesday at 10 a.m. and a wake is scheduled for Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Swearingen Chapel.
Revs. Houston Tiger and Ted Underwood officiating the services.
Interment to follow to Hitchitee Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Your grandfather was probably a younger brother of Ananias Henry Sutterfield, b. Apr 18, 1867, Searcy Co., Ar., D. Feb 21, 1936 Okemah, OK. This was probably the Uncle Henry your mother spoke about. There was another brother Frank. Write my Mother she's done 24 yrs. of research on the Sutterfield's.

I would like to know any information you have on the Gassaways of Miss. I think one of this line married my 4th g grandfather James Parnell Portis. He had a son named William Gassaway Portis who was named in his uncle William Gassaway's will. It was writtenin Muscogee Co., GA., but filed in Talbot Co., GA. Wm. Gassaway also named another nephew, William David Gassaway, son of my brother James Gassaway. This James Gassaway was on the 1820 Wilkes Co., GA census, but in Tippah Co., MS by 1830. He died in 1848 in Miss.
I believe my James Parnell Portis along with Elizabeth(his wife's mother) and brother-in-laws Samuel, Daniel and James travelled from GA to MS together. I cannot prove who James Parnell Portis' wife was , but I know by the above will she was a Gassaway.
Do you know anything about the girls, Rebecca, Hannah and Lucy?

My gg grandparents were Gazaway and Becky Ann Reinhardt Cook. They had 3 daughters-Stella, Ella, and Ader. My line is through Ader. Gazaway and Becky died and were buried in Hamilton County, possibly Chattanooga. I am looking for info on Stella and Ella and the whereabouts of Gazaway and Becky's graves. Any info would be appreciated.

Gazaway Lamar Crittenden died in ultra-light crash

Gazaway Lamar Crittenden Jr., named for his famous Lamar ancestor, crashed his ultra-light airplane and died Aug.1, 2007 at age 63. He had owned and flown the plane for at least five years and appears to have been attempting to make it to the Hanson, MA airport but crashed nearby.
Gaz was a friend and sometimes tennis partner who loaned me some of his information which I used in my book "Those Southern Lamars" in which Gazaway Lamar was one of the subjects. We'll miss you Gaz!

Henry Graybill Lamar was the son of John Lamar and Frances Breedlove. He was born 10 July 1798 in Clinton, Jones Co, GA. He married Mary Ann Davis on 28 Oct 1823 in Columbia Co, GA. Their children were: Amelia Louisa, Gazaway Davis, Georgia Ann, Anderson, Leonidas, John, Henry Graybill,Jr., Sarah R., Victoria, Mary Gazaline, Clementius F., Matilda Julia, Iola Estelle, and Ida Lochram Lamar. Henry died on 10 Sept. 1861 in Macon, Bibb Co, GA. He is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon.
