PERCY W. "D" HARDING of Paterson, formerly of Fair Lawn and Passaic, died Saturday. He worked for United States Printing Ink Co., East Rutherford, for 28 years. Edward Pershing Sanders, 83, died June 15, 2002, at his home in Ashland City.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 17, at 3 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home in Ashland City, conducted by Rev. Charlie Carmack and Bro. Terry Boyd. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers Mike Allen, Bill Gable, Joshua Garrett, Daniel Jackson, Jackie Norton and Wayne Dowlen.
Mr. Sanders was a farmer for many years and retired from Marvin Hayes Truck Lines. He was a Veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Clara Laney Sanders; two sons, Glenn (Jimmie Lou) Sanders, Ronnie Sanders, both of Joelton; foster daughter, Lois (Earl) Bogle of Gassaway; one sister, Emma Sanders of Ashland city; two half brothers, C.E. Sanders and G.W. Sanders of Ashland City; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

...Walter and Minnie Quinn Gassaway Mansion which is located just off East North Street. Walter was Greenville's most successful banker and mill owner in the 1920s. Mr. Gassaway had transformed from a very poor country boy to a millionaire. The mansion was completed just before the 1929 stock market crash. Mr. Gassaway died of a heart attack and the house was sold. Greenville County later bought it and made it the first home of the Greenville County Art Museum in the 1950's. After the museum moved to College Street it was rented out to private citizens. In the late 1990, it was again on the market and the County sold it for $1,000,000 to a Jewish group who used it as a temple. The group sold it after a few years and it returned to private ownership. Visitors may see the outside of the home and contact the owners for a private tour...

Mr. Larry Thomas Gazaway, age 53, of Gaza-way Road, Blairsville, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2002 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Gazaway was born on May 9, 1949 in Atlanta, GA, the son of the late Thomas R. Gazaway and Mary Augusta Self Gazaway. Mr. Gazaway was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW, and the army and Navy Union. He was the owner and operator of A & L Locksmith Service in Blairsville. Mr. Gazaway was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving Mr. Gazaway are his loving wife, Aurora Avalos Gazaway of Blairsville; mother, Mary Augusta Self Gazaway of Blairsville; three stepsons and daughter-in-laws, Pete and Lezley Rochas of Irvin, TX, Jesse and Tara Rocha of Young Harris, Julian and Leah Rochas of Froth Worth, TX; five grandchildren, Rudy, Brandon, Jordon and Leslie Rocha, and Tana Mishaye, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Services were held on Monday, August 26, 2002 at 2 pm from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Tanner officiating. Special music was presented by Mindy Combs and Suzie Larocca. Military honors were conducted by the North Georgia Honor guard.
Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville in charge of the arrangements.
